Bayesian Model Selection of Neutron Star Equations of State Using Multi-messenger Observations

Abstract The measurement of the macroscopic properties a neutron star, whether in binary or an isolated system, provides us with key opportunity to place stringent constraint on its equation state. In this paper, we perform Bayesian model selection wide variety star equations state using multi-messenger observations. particular, (i) use mass and tidal deformability measurements from two merger events, GW170817 GW190425; (ii) simultaneous mass–radius PSR J0030+0451 J0740+6620 by NICER collaboration, while latter has been analyzed joint NICER/radio/XMM-Newton collaboration. Among 31 considered analysis, are able rule out different variants MS1 family, SKI5, H4, WFF1 decisively, which either extremely stiff soft most preferred turns be AP3 (or MPA1), predicts radius dimensionless 1.4 M ? 12.10 (12.50) km 393 (513), respectively.
